The Story Behind The Artwork
At the heart of the design is Victor Müller's lyrical 1868 painting of Ophelia, crowned here with golden stars and accompanied by two gentle fawns. Flowing scrollwork from an antique Art Nouveau book cover by Alphonse Mucha adds a fairytale quality.
William Morris' Honeysuckle print appears in dark ivory and deep rust tones. The placket and sleeves feature a design drawn from a 17th-century calligraphy border originally painted in teal ink and real gold.
