Market Of Stars

Market of Stars will plant a tree this year for every Tree of Life kimono sold.

The Tree of Life is a timeless symbol that can be found in almost every culture around the world — and represents connectedness, growth, hope, and harmony. Its “fruits” are the fruits of happiness — love, joy, and wonder among them.

A dove, the symbol for peace, nests in the tree’s branches. Over a year in the making, our captivating version of the Tree of Life was carefully adapted from an American archival lithograph from 1891.

Worn and damaged, the print needed to be reconstructed, repaired, and reworked to restore its vibrant rich colors. To compliment this stunning piece, we created the printed trim using a French silk embroidery panel from the early 19th century, in beautiful tones of aqua and gold.

The flattering silhouette falls below the hip, and features a removable belt that can be worn tied in the back or the front.

Distressed denim is an obvious choice with this piece for everyday, but with its rich, striking palette of greens, blues, and golds, it also dresses up beautifully. Layer it over a pale silk slip dress or linen jump suit for an upscale bohemian look — or wear it over black for a chic arthouse vibe. We particularly love it paired with aqua, lime, and white, and accessorized with a long necklace and some vintage boho bangles.

The symbol of the Tree of Life dates back centuries and can be found in nearly every culture — from the Vikings to the ancient Egyptians. It is often depicted as a strong, deeply rooted tree that upholds and nurtures the world and everything in it.

To help preserve the wild beauty around us, we’re planting one tree for every Tree of Life kimono sold — wherever it’s needed most in North America — through
