Bella Notte Bohéme Slip Dress
Meaning “Beautiful Night,” Bella Notte by Market of Stars is a romantic tribute to moonlit landscapes, antique art, and words of devotion. This reversible maxi slip dress offers two ways to wear its story-rich print.
The Story Behind The Artwork
The dreamy woman seated among the trees comes from an 1880 painting by artist and poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti. A charming rabbit, drawn from a painting made in 1585, adds a woodland touch. The bodice features a moonlit river landscape from an 1840s British oil painting, framed by floral trim from a calligraphic manuscript by William Morris.
An open book at the bottom of the design reads, “Many are the stars I see, yet in my eye no star like thee.” The words were taken from an engraving inside an antique gold ring, a small love note woven into the artwork.
Wear it with sandals for a relaxed afternoon, or layer it with a kimono and gemstone jewelry for an evening gathering. Reverse the dress to change how you showcase the print.
