About the Print
The design draws on several Delft tiles from the 1700s, including two elaborate Italianate landscape scenes. Cracks and slight imperfections in the original ceramics are intentionally retained in the printed artwork.
The beauty of that patina reflects the collection’s message: there is much to embrace about the challenges we have overcome and the experiences that make us who we are.
The trim is adapted from an 1867 British book on classical ornamentation and an earthenware plaque from the Netherlands painted in 1780.
